Named after the keen angler who lived in a farmhouse on this site, the Izaak Walton Inn was established as a hotel in 1948. Set in 9-acre grounds, the inn is an eclectic mix of old colonial style, modern buildings, exotic gardens and local Kenyan customs.
There are 90 en-suite rooms, made up of standard, superior and deluxe. All rooms have satellite TV, built^in cupboards, embroidered bedspreads and chintz curtains. The deluxe rooms are more spacious and have polished wooden floors, sofa and fridge.
The restaurant offers buff and a la carte; guests can eat in the restaurant or at the outdoor dining area next to the pool and overlooks the garden. The Tavern, also well stocked, is a dark wood paneled bar, with flat screen satellite TV, dance floor and DJ booth. The Observatory is a roadside bar with nyama choma grilled meats and beers. Batian Hall seats 200 pax, Lenana Hall seats 70, Teleki Hall seats 50 and Nelion Hall seats 30. The halls are fully equipped with projector, PA system and secretarial facilities. The hotel also boasts a swimming pool, squash courts, salon, cyber cafe and horse riding. Parties, weddings and functions can be arranged.
