About Manda Bay

Manda Bay is a small boutique lodge offering informal pampering and barefoot luxury. Located on the northwest tip of Manda Island, one of the many idyllic islands of the Lamu Archipelago, and surrounded by miles of soft yellow sand and acres of bush land behind the lodge, Manda Bay offers a beach and bush experience.

There are 10 double Beach Front Cottages and 6 twin Sea View Cottages. All the bedrooms overlook the Indian Ocean, and encompass an enormous drape of mosquito netting, en-suite bathrooms and overhead fans.

The buildings at Manda Bay are in keeping with the local landscape and are constructed using mainly local materials. There is a central dining room featuring locally crafted Lamu furniture and antiques, a large lounge and bar area on the waterfront and a games room encompassing a fresh water swimming pool overlooking the creek and moorings. An upstairs sitting room with comfortable chairs is ideal for reading or company meetings. Manda Bay offers a wide variety of water sports, including windsurfing, kayaking, sailing and deep sea fishing. Excursions to Lamu Old Town are available. For a surcharge, Dhow trips and scenic flights can also be arranged.
