A classic tented camp, Kicheche Bush Camp offers a luxury experience with an intimate atmosphere. The camp is located in the Olare Orok Conservancy bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Through strict limit on bed numbers, the Olare Orok Conservancy offers quality game viewing without crowds.
There are 6 en-suite tents, made up of doubles, twins and 1 triple. The tents are equipped with luggage racks and woven rugs, and the bathrooms have safari showers. Meals, which are a blend of African and European dishes including homemade bread and pastries, are served alfresco or in the dining tent. The lounge area has a selection of reference books and sells curios designed by the families of the staff.
Kicheche’s guides are highly qualified and experienced, and take regular training courses. Activities include game drives, game walks and cultural visits to Maasai villages, as well as local schools supported by the camp. The Kicheche Community Project, established in 2004, encourages the preservation of the environment and improves the welfare of the community. Kicheche was applauded by Chris Haslam, AITO travel writer of the year, for its passionate commitment to the community. The camp has a gold award from Ecotourism Kenya. The camp is seasonal, and closes in March, April, May and November.
