About Offbeat Mara Camp
Situated in Mara North Conservancy, Offbeat Mara Camp is a small, tented camp on the Olare Orok River. The camp is one of the founding members of Mara North Conservancy, a prime wildlife viewing area bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The camp practises sustainable tourism and is a member of Eco Hotels of the World.
There are 6 en-suite tents. The tents are traditional safari tents, with large handmade cedar beds, 24-hour solar lighting and safari showers. The mess tent has comfortable sofas, writing desk, library with wildlife books and a well stocked bar. English breakfasts, light lunches and 3-course dinners are served in the mess tent, around the campfire or in the bush. Activities include day and night game drives and game walks in the conservancy. Game drives in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, cultural visits to a local Maasai village and excursions to the nearby rhino sanctuary are also available. Offbeat Mara Camp works closely with the local Maasai community, many of whom helped build the camp. All guides are local Maasai and are qualified by Kenya Professional Safari Guide Association, KPSGA. The camp supports Koiyaki Guiding School and employs graduates from the school.
Offbeat Mara Camp is affiliated to Offbeat Safaris and can arrange safaris around the country and horse riding safaris.
