About Serian

Set in a secluded valley in the Mara North Conservancy, Serian fulfils the meaning of its name: peaceful. This traditional bush camp, overlooking the Mara River and the Oloololo Escarpment, combines luxury with comfort. There are 8 chic en-suite marquees, each decorated in the style of safaris of a bygone era, with woven carpets on hardwood floors, and swathes of cotton setting off the colonial furniture. The chef plans personal menus with the guests.

All guests are allocated their own 4WD vehicle, with guide and spotter, and can choose the times of their game drives, night drives and game walks. Other activities include picnics, bush dinner, bush bath, river fishing and fly camping. The camp can arrange trips to Lake Victoria, balloon safaris, scenic flights and horse riding. Walking with Warriors is a 9-day walking safari led by Maasai moran that combines bush camping with nights in Serian and sister camps Suguroi Hill Tree House and Nkorombo Mobile Camp.

Serian promotes eco-friendly practices such as responsible waste management, sustainably grown firewood and solar power. The Serian Trust supports children attending secondary school and vocational training institutes. Serian is the Predator Project Research Base and works to save lions and other predators in unprotected areas.

Designed to blend unobtrusively into the surrounding vegetation, Sister camp, Nkorombo Mobile Camp, focuses on viewing wildlife. The camp is truly mobile, and its location varies according to the movement of the animals. It is reserved on an exclusive basis. Suguroi Hill Tree House, an intimate tree house, accommodates 6 people. In Pusinkariak Conservancy, the tree house is accessible only by foot. Suguroi Hill Tree House can be taken as part of a safari with sister camps Serian, Ngare Serian and Nkorombo Mobile Camp.
