Ngong House is an exclusive homestay in 10 acres of gardens. The house was established in 1994, and offers luxury, privacy and personal service. There are 6 tree houses, 2-floor stilt houses of indigenous materials, each with private balcony. These are individually designed, with furniture from Lamu, batiks from Ivory Coast, Kuba cloth from Congo, lace from Belgium and ornaments in the coastal Swahili style. The private cottage, facing the swimming pool, has 2 double bedrooms and spacious seating area with fireplace. The log cabin has 2 double bedrooms, large loft, living room, bar, dining room and fireplace. There is also 1 double room in the main house, with 4-poster bed, seating area, fireplace and veranda. All rooms are equipped with mosquito net, minibar, safe, telephone and hairdryer. Children are welcome; babysitting can be arranged. The business centre has internet.
Sundowners are served around the campfire. Breakfast and lunch are served in the gardens. Dinners can be served in the dining rondavel, main house dining room, main house veranda or private rooms. Ngong House has a range of Penny Winter’s fashion and jewellery for sale, designed by Penny on site. Excursions to the Giraffe Centre, Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Nairobi National Museum and Karen Blixen Museum are all on offer.
