Set in Tsavo West National Park, Severin Safari Camp is an eco-friendly camp overlooking a floodlit waterhole. The camp received an award from TÜV Rhineland in Germany for the quality of its service and its spa. There are 27 en-suite rooms, equipped with WiFi, and spread over 25 hectares of bush land. The 21 octagon tents have private terraces. The 4 concrete-walled junior suites also have a separate lounge, a sundeck with sunbeds and a private courtyard. The 2 suites have lookout decks with views of Mt Kilimanjaro, and are equipped with a corner bathtub and connected to a 2nd tent, making them suitable for families.
The 80mÇ Baraza conference tent seats up to 30 pax and is equipped with modern communication and presentation technology. The Out of Africa Restaurant offers an à la carte menu, the chef’s specialty being chicken and beef prepared on a hot stone or served as fondue. The Thorn Tree Bar has a wide selection of drinks.
Kenbali Spa, with its infinity ying-yang swimming pool, offers therapies in the centuries-old techniques of Southeast Asia. Its open air treatment rooms are peaceful, relaxing havens. Activities include game drives, game walks and trips to Mzima Springs.
Severin Safari Camp holds Ecotourism Kenya’s silver award. Kitani Lodge, a nearby collection of self-catering bandas, is managed by Severin. There are 8 thatched bandas, each equipped with double bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and terrace. Guests staying at the bandas are welcome to use the facilities at sister lodge, Severin Safari Camp.
