About Voyager Ziwani
On a 30,000-acre private farm on the western edge of Tsavo West National Park, Voyager Ziwani is a tented camp. Sitting on the verge of Ziwa Dam on the Sante River, the camp looks out on the hippos that have made this their home.
There are 25 en-suite tents, 16 on the southern bank of the Sante River and 9 on the northern bank. All tents have double or twin beds, and secluded verandas overlooking the river. The main building, overlooking Ziwa Dam, houses the bar and dining room. Breakfast is served on the veranda. Dinner, which is table d’hote, can be served on the lawn beside the campfire. The camp also has a gift shop with souvenirs and safari essentials. Voyager Ziwani holds Ecotourism Kenya’s silver award.
Activities include day and night game drives, game walks and horse riding. Boating amongst crocodiles and turtles on Ziwa Dam is also on offer. Trips to the twin volcano lakes of Chala and Jipe, and to Grogan’s Castle, and tours of the World War I battlefields are available. Local experts give evening slideshows on local culture and wildlife. Romantic sundowners and bush meals can be arranged. The Adventurers’ and the Young Rangers’ clubs organise activities for children.
