About Sasaab
Majestically situated high on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, Sasaab commands breathtaking views across the arid landscape of northern Kenya towards the jagged peaks of Mt Kenya. Sasaab is located in Westgate Community Land, west of Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves. The 9 luxury open plan rooms are designed in Moroccan style, each having an area of over 100m2, with magnificent views of the surrounding land and a high level of privacy. All rooms have private plunge pools, en-suite open air bathrooms and WiFi. There are 2 connecting rooms, suitable for a family.
Sasaab’s state of the art SpaSaab nestles in the rocks on the edge of the Ewaso Nyiro River. From the 2 treatment rooms and wrap-around pool guests can enjoy sweeping views across the riverbed abundant with wildlife. Liz Earle has developed a wholly organic skincare range incorporating herbs and plants from the natural environment in keeping with Sasaab’s strong environmental policies.
Saasab holds Ecotourism Society of Kenya’s prestigious gold award.
Game drives take place on the conservancy, and in Samburu and Bufallo Springs National Reserves, areas renowned for their variant species. The nature trail gives children a chance to make Samburu bows and arrows as well as a traditional Samburu toothbrush. Sasaab is closed in November.
