Nestling in the contours of an ancient hillside, Olarro is exclusive, intimate and stylish. The lodge is on a large group ranch, formed in order to secure an intrinsic part of the greater Maasai Mara for wildlife habitat. It aims to preserve the environment and wildlife and strengthen the traditional heritage of the Maasai.
There are 7 cottages, made up of 3 twins and 4 doubles. The interiors are cool white, enhanced by earth tone décor. All cottages are equipped with WiFi and hairdryer. Each cottage has its own veranda; 6 of the cottages use a common sitting area, suitable for groups or families. Meals are served in the Northern Lounge, overlooking the Loita plains. Fresh natural ingredients are used to create unique dishes. There is also a sundeck, lounge, bar and open fireplace. Bush dinners, picnics and meals beside the swimming pool are also available.
Olarro Spa has a range of therapies and treatments, designed for relaxation or energising. The swimming pool is a series of small interlinked pools. Activities include game drives, night drives with night vision goggles, game walks, mountain biking and trekking. The lodge uses solar power and has a backup generator. Olarro supports the local community with projects in education, health, water, sanitation, agriculture and alternate energy.
Little Olarro, a luxurious private house, is located a short distance from Olarro’s main lodge. High on the hillside, Little Olarro offers stunning panoramic views of the Loita plains.
