Lake Naivasha Country Club became famous in the 1930s, when it was a staging post for the Imperial Airways’ flying boat service from Durban to London. The club is situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha, in 12 hectares of lawns.
There are 39 standard rooms, 3 family rooms, 7 executive cottages and 1 presidential cottage. All rooms are en-suite and overlook either the garden or the lake. They are all equipped with cupboard, dressing table, mosquito net and fan. The residents’ lounge is furnished with comfortable sofas, and serves a selection of drinks including cocktails. There is also a bar beside the swimming pool. Dinners are served in the dining room or on the lawns. The club has a volleyball court, football pitch, cricket ground and snooker room. The spa offers massage, manicure and pedicure. The conference hall seats 50 pax. Activities include boat trips on Lake Naivasha for fishing or simply relaxing. Local sites of interest include Crescent Island, Crater Lake, Mt Longonot and Hell’s Gate National Park. Lake Naivasha Country Club is managed by Sun Africa Hotels, and is affiliated to Lake Baringo Club on the shores of Lake Baringo and Keekorok Lodge in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
