About Mara Engai

High on the escarpment, Mara Engai has lovely views across the sweeping plains of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The camp is near the Mara Triangle and also offers game drives in this private area of the Mara region.

There are 20 en-suite tents raised on wooden decks, all with views of the plains or the riverine forest. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served in the main restaurant, on the guests deck or in the bush; meals are designed to cater to all tastes.

Game drives in specially adapted pinzgauer vehicles can be taken in the morning and evening, or for a full day including a picnic lunch. Game walks and visits to local Maasai villages are on offer and balloon rides over the Mara can also be arranged. Weddings can be arranged, and honeymoon packages are also available. The Maasai Mara is known for high numbers of wildlife including the famed ‘big five’. From roughly June until October the Great Migration floods through the Mara.

Mara Engai has been awarded Ecotourism Kenya’s silver award for its eco policies. The Mara Engai Foundation implements programmes that support the local community and help to preserve the environment.
