About Mahali Mzuri

Meaning ‘beautiful place’ in Swahili, Mahali Mzuri is a strikingly original camp in the stunning Olare Motorogi Conservancy adjoining the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Sir Richard Branson’s luxury tented camp, part of the Virgin Limited Edition collection of camps, opened in 2013 and has been voted ‘Favourite Safari Camp’ by Conde Nast readers more than once.

The 12 stylish tented suites could be described as modern chic; all have private decks with panoramic views. Two tents can have additional beds for children. The expansive Main Tent, linked to the suites by raised walkways, houses the bar and lounge with library and open fireplace. Guests can eat here, by the pool, on a private deck or in the bush. The chef serves continental and pan-African cuisine created from fresh, locally-sourced products. There’s also an infinity pool and a spa with a range of bespoke treatments.

Activities include game drives, visits to local Maasai villages, and balloon flights. Children over six are welcome and the camp offers a wide range of activities for Little Warriors. The camp contributes to the protection of the ecosystem, the wildlife and the local communities, is a member of Pack for a Purpose, and supports a number of local schools and businesses.
