About Zomeni Lion Hill Camp
Situated on Mlima wa Simba, Swahili for Lion Hill, this lodge makes a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views. The lodge is not far from Voi Gate of Tsavo East National Park and easily accessible from the Nairobi Mombasa Highway.
The 8 en-suite rooms with double or twin beds, solid foundations and tiled bathrooms. The 4 en-suite safari tents; all have balconies overlooking the national park. The large circular dining area has a high thatched roof and open sides through which visitors can view the animals that come to the waterhole. The lodge serves a buffet lunch and a la carte dinner, and the bar has a selection of beers, wines and spirits.
Attractions of Tsavo East National Park include the red elephants – so coloured because of the red dust they bathe in; the foaming rapids of Lugard’s Falls; Mudanda Rock from which visitors can look down on the game; and Yatta Plateau, the longest solidified lava flow in the world. Also famous are the stories of the Man Eaters of Tsavo during the time of the building of the railway, otherwise known as the Lunatic Express. Birdlife is prolific.
