About Tamarind Tree

The Tamarind Group founded its iconic restaurant in Mombasa in 1972. To this day, the restaurant retains its quality standards and exquisite seafood. Since then, the group has opened a number of restaurants and hotels around Kenya. In 2017, the group opened Tamarind Tree, near their popular Carnivore Restaurant known for the signature dawa cocktail and their Beast of a Feast meat extravaganza.

The 160 en-suite rooms are made up of standard rooms, executive suites, junior suites, superior suites and family suites. All rooms have double or twin beds, double glazed windows, blackout curtains, flat screen TV, desk, hair dryer, safe, aircon, Wifi, rain shower and tea and coffee making facilities. The suites are more spacious and have a lounge area with sofa.

Tamambo Restaurant serves continental cuisine; Dawa Lounge serves afternoon tea, cocktails and canapes; Duka Coffee Shop serves light bights; and the pool deck serves cocktails and soft drinks. The conference centre has 2 meeting rooms with capacities of 80 and 100, while Kongamano Ballroom has a maximum capacity of 250; services include LCD projector, laser printer, PA system, wireless screen and audio projection and a dedicated events manager. There’s also a 20-meter heated swimming pool and a modern fitness centre.
