In the stunning Naboisho Conservancy bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Encounter Mara is a luxurious tented camp beneath a canopy of acacia trees with views of the savannah. The camp has been built with keen adherence to eco-friendly principles for which it has been awarded Ecotourism Kenya’s prestigious gold award.
The 10 en-suite tents are made up of 1 family tent, 2 triples and 7 doubles. All tents are furnished in traditional safari style, and have hot safari showers, safe, and spacious verandas adorned with chairs and daybeds. The elegant tented lounge has views of the plains and the animals that visit the nearby saltlick. Home-cooked meals can be served in the dining tent or out in the bush. Activities include game drives with the camp’s safari guides all of whom trained at the respected Koiyaki Guiding School. Also available are nature walks, bush picnics, scenic sundowners, and visits to local Maasai villages and homesteads. Hot air balloon flights and fly camping can also be arranged.
Naboisho Conservancy is a ground-breaking community initiative that provides Maasai landowners a sustainable livelihood while protecting a vital wilderness corridor and the animals that live in it. The camp is managed by Asilia Africa, making it Asilia’s second camp in Naboisho Conservancy.
