On the western shores of the stunning Lake Turkana, Eliye Springs is a traditionally designed eco-lodge.
The 4 Acco bomas are traditional thatched en-suite huts dotted along the beach, with verandas facing the lake. The 4 en-suite family rooms have stone walls, thatched roofs, and each has 2 double beds. The 8 manyattas have shared bathrooms. The beach lounge and bar is created from sand and welcomes beach parties and relaxation. The chef creates food art, and offers marinated ingredients for those who want to cook for themselves. The area is known for its prehistoric sites to which the resort can organise trips. Activities include fishing, boat rides and bird watching. There’s also a TV room, pool table and campsite.
Eliye Spings has implemented numerous eco-policies. It uses solar power, reduces the use of plastic, recycles tyres and bottles, and has a spring water spa fed with natural spring water directly from Eliye Springs. Fences, reception, crocodile boutique, lounge area and furniture are all created from recycled produce. The lodge supports local students, does in-house training for locals and assists the local hospital and primary school.
