About The River Valley House

The River Valley House is a Palladian style house near the River Burguret. The house is taken on an exclusive basis, and makes an ideal base from which to do fishing, flying and photographic safaris around Kenya.

The main house has 5 en-suite bedrooms. The master bedroom has a circular balcony that looks onto Mt Kenya; the other rooms have lovely views of the farm, mountains and river valley. The west wing has 2 en-suite bedrooms suitable for guests, pilots or guides. The chef serves breakfast in the spacious morning room, and lunch and dinner in the formal dining room. Many of the dishes served are created from fresh produce from the farm; the swathes of herbs grown here are exported to Europe.

The house also has a drawing room, cinema, study, snooker room, rod room, and elegant conservatory. The 20m heated swimming pool has a pool house, kids’ play area, fully equipped gym and a deck suitable for yoga and Pilates. The house is in a perfect location from which to climb Mt Kenya or visit Ngare Ndare Forest. It also makes a good base from which to go on camping trips, fishing expeditions, helicopter flights and safaris. Other activities in the area include horse riding, quad biking and bird watching.
