About Simba wa Kale

On Jacaranda Beach, to the north of Watamu, is Simba wa Kale. Established in 2020, this boutique resort offers suites and a restaurant on the beachfront. The owner, an architect and fashion stylist, designed the hotel.

The villa houses 3 en-suite suites, a central living area and a veranda facing the sea. The spacious suites have a double bed, sofa, aircon, fan, fridge and safe, and their bathrooms have a shower. The suites and living area have whitewashed walls, Swahili furniture and elegant African antiques. The restaurant changes its menu regularly and offers a few dishes with fresh local ingredients. Meals can be served on the beach, on the terrace, around the bar as the guests wish. The beachfront bar specialises in champagne and also has a menu of cocktails and wines. The staff offer high level of service and a welcoming experience.

The beachfront has sunbeds and umbrellas, and non-residents of the hotel are welcome to rent these for the day and use the restaurant and bar. Massage on the beach can be arranged. Activities include kite surfing, SUP and other water sports. Nearby Watamu has plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and excursions.
