About Maison Muge

In spacious gardens near Kilifi’s Bofa Beach, Maison Muge is a collection of cottages and a restaurant around a swimming pool. Swiss owned and managed, the ambiance is that of being welcomed into a private residence.

There are 3 villas and 3 rooms, all designed in the theme of an African animal. Zebra has 2 bedrooms, living room, bathroom and veranda. Elephant and Antelope have a double bedroom, bathroom, living room and veranda. Pelican, dolphin and flamingo are in a row along one side of the garden, with en-suite double bedroom and veranda. All rooms and villas have murals of their animal, and décor in the theme of their animal.

Restaurant le Bijou serves innovative cuisine with a flavour of Switzerland and Africa. Dishes include mango Gazpacho, Mexican quinoa stuffed potatoes, mchuzi wa samaki, baked orange-glazed salmon and Kenyan pilau. The wine list is extensive, and the bread is baked freshly on site. The hotel can organise tours of Kilifi, Mombasa, Malindi. and Diani. Also available are dhow cruises, golf at Vipingo Ridge, boat trips on the marine parks and bird watching on the creek. Other excursions include Gede Ruins, Arabuko Sokoke Forest, Fort Jesus and Marafa Hell’s Kitchen.
