About Kibo Safari Camp

Named after the highest peak of Mt Kilimanjaro, Kibo Safari Camp is an authentic tented safari camp with striking views of the mountain.

There are 71 en-suite tents, shaded by thatched roofs. They are furnished with rustic furniture including solid wood bed, mosquito net, clothes rack, writing table and chair. All the tents, and the restaurant, face Mt Kilimanjaro. Fruit and vegetables are grown at the camp’s own farm; the food is fresh and tasty. The lounge, beneath acacia trees, is equipped with satellite TV. The bar serves soft drinks, beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.

The camp also has a swimming pool, a massage parlour and a gift shop. Conferences and teambuilding events can be organised. Every evening after dinner, Maasai moran dance by the open fire; guests are welcome to join in.

Kibo Safari Camp is approximately 5 minutes’ drive from Olkelunyiet Gate of Amboseli National Park. Activities include game drives and cultural visits to local Maasai villages. While Amboseli is famed for elephants, more than 50 other mammal species are also found here, including lion, spotted hyena, buffalo and Maasai giraffe. Birdlife numbers more than 400, including Goliath heron, Cori bustard, pigmy falcon, flamingo and pelican.
