About King’s Cottage, Che Shale

On secluded Che Shale Beach, King’s Cottage is a beach cottage in mature and spacious gardens.

There are 2 en-suite bedrooms, one double and one twin. Both have African art, woven floor mats and mosquito nets; the walls are whitewashed, with exposed beams in the ceiling. The veranda makes a lovely open-air dining area. The kitchen, in a separate building, has gas cooker, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery and utensils. The team of staff can shop for food for visitors before their arrival. Fruit and vegetables can be bought locally. Hammocks are strung from shady trees and sunbeds are also available. The owners’ dogs wander the succulent-filled gardens, and might stop by for a visit.

The long and peaceful beach is perfect for walking, running and swimming. Water sports, kite surfing, deep sea fishing and boat trips are on offer at the two nearby beach camps, both of which also have bar and restaurant. Malindi, about half an hour from Che Shale, has plenty of restaurants, shops, markets and historic sites. Transfers to and from Malindi airport can be arranged.
