About Amboseli Serena Lodge

Framed against the stunning backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, Amboseli Serena Lodge is in Amboseli National Park. The lodge, set along the banks of a flowing natural spring and surrounded by rolling grasslands, is patrolled by the vast herds of elephant for which Amboseli is famed. A grove of giant acacias casts shade over the Maasai-styled rooms.

The lodge has 96 en-suite rooms, each with an uninterrupted view over the plains. The rooms blend an authentic nomadic aura with modern facilities and comforts. Each is designed as a traditional manyatta, adorned with Maasai beadwork and gourds, and its walls are hand-painted with murals by a local artist. The lodge’s swimming pool is filled with water from a natural spring that flows from Mt Kilimanjaro. Weddings, conferences and cultural events can all be catered for by the Serena team.

As part of Serena Hotels’ dedication to conserving the environment of the African Bush, guests are invited to plant a tree to help reforestation that is necessary after herds of elephants tearing up trees for food. The lodge’s naturalist also gives informative talks on environmental issues relating to Amboseli National Park. Ecotourism Kenya has given Amboseli Serena Lodge a silver award.
