About Eco-Treehouse

This 500-acre mature fruit farm grows 35 varieties of fruits, including mango, passion, guava, lemon, orange, lichee and dragon fruit. The farm is committed to eco-farming, uses black soldier fly composting, reworks the soil, and operates on solar power. Ostriches, guinea fowl and plentiful birdlife are seen throughout the farm.

The three houses were designed and built by local artisans. The Treehouse has 2 en-suite bedrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. Its spacious raised veranda has panoramic views over the mango forest to Mt Kenya and the Aberdares. Ostrich House has two en-suite rooms in the main house, and one in a small cottage. There’s an open-plan kitchen and dining area, and a large shaded veranda. The wild garden has hammocks, swings and giant chess. Lime House has four bedrooms and two bathrooms, central kitchen and dining area, and lovely veranda. A housekeeper cleans the houses, and a chef is available for an additional charge.

Activities include a guided farm tour, walking to the river, fishing, swimming in the dam, visiting to the eco-compost, birdwatching and hiking. You can also pick your own fruit and buy fresh vegetables. Nearby Sagana has white water rafting and other adventure sports.
