About Naro Moru River Lodge

This log-cabin style lodge has been dubbed the base for climbing Mt Kenya for its tailor-made mountain climbing itineraries backed by its experienced teams of guides and porters. Naro Moru River Lodge supplies a wealth of information on the mountain, its zones of vegetation, and the pros and cons of its various climbing routes.

There are 12 standard en-suite twin rooms. The 12 superior rooms, with twin, double or triple beds, are more spacious and most have a fireplace and interconnecting rooms for families. The 14 deluxe rooms have fireplaces and balconies with panoramic views of Mt Kenya. The 5 self-catering cottages have 2 or 3 bedrooms and fully equipped kitchenettes, and the 5 self-catering country homes are in private compounds, with 3 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchenettes and dining rooms. There are also bunkhouses with dorms and a campsite.

Kirinyaga Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and children’s food. Nelion Restaurant serves a la carte snacks, lunch and dinner. Point Lenana Bar looks out on the Naro Moru River, while Batian Pool Bar views Mt Kenya. The fully equipped Makutano meeting room seats 120 pax, Mt Kenya seats 60 and the boardroom seats 10. Sauna, squash, tennis, table tennis and pool are also available.
