In the foothills of Mt Kenya, Olepangi Farm has a main house and cottages, sweeping gardens, striking views and a stable of horses.
Olepangi House has 3 bedrooms, lounge, living room, dining room and several balconies. Markham Cottage has 1 en-suite bedroom and is set apart for more privacy. The Round House, at the centre of the farm, has 1 bedroom upstairs, living and dining room downstairs, al fresco bathroom and balcony.
Thesiger Cottage has 1 en-suite bedroom and balcony. Burton Cottage with 1 en-suite double room and Speke Cottage with 1 en-suite twin room share a balcony. Villa Gorilla has 2 bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen and terrace with sunbeds, and can be taken self-catering.
The house and cottages are elegantly decorated with antique carpets, furniture and trimmings. The chef creates innovate and tasty meals from the farm’s organic vegetable garden. The farm’s horses are available for riding on the farm, in the nearby wildlife conservancy and on the slopes of Mt Kenya. Riding lessons in the all-weather arena and polo lessons on the polo ground are available. Massage, croquet, guided walks and gin tastings are on offer. Nearby attractions include Ngare Ndare Forest, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Solio Ranch and Lolldaiga Hills. The artist in residency programme gives creative people the chance to hone their skills.
