About The Stables Ol Pejeta

Infamous multi-millionaire Adnan Khashoggi built these rooms as stables for his horses. They were subsequently converted into Ol Pejeta’s Research Centre, and have now been refurbished as affordable accommodation.

There are 11 single rooms, 2 en-suite double rooms and a twin tent with 2 single beds. The single rooms and the twin tent have shared bathrooms. Each room has bed with mosquito net, clothes hangar and power socket. A fridge and boiled water are available; bathrooms are shared. The gardens around The Stables have picnic tables, a campsite and lush tropical flowers.

This simple but comfortable accommodation gives access to the lovely Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Ol Pejeta, in the foothills of Mt Kenya, is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and the only place to see chimpanzees in Kenya. The conservancy has a high density of predators and large numbers of endangered species, giving visitors here excellent game viewing. Activities include orse riding, dog tracking, lion tracking and visiting the last remaining northern white rhinos. The many children’s activities include the junior ranger club. Morani’s Restaurant is also on the conservancy. Activities in Ol Pejeta are not included but can be booked from The Stables.
