About Laragai House

Laragai House is ideally situated on the Borana Conservancy, a leading rhino sanctuary and working ranch. Lord Michael and Lord Valentine built the house in the 1980s and the house retains their elegant style; the guest list reads like a Who’s Who of royalty, celebrities and rock stars.

There are 8 bedrooms: 4 en-suite doubles, 2 en-suite twins and 2 children’s twin rooms with shared bathroom. The house also has a spacious drawing room, dining room, fully equipped gym, spa staffed by masseuse and beauty therapist, tennis courts, and heated pool overlooking a large dam. A team of staff including a chef tends to the house.

The wealth of activities includes game drives, guided bush walks, rhino tracking on foot, horse riding, mountain biking, and joining the Borana Conservancy anti-poaching team. Visits to Ngare Ndare Forest, local schools and nearby Maasai villages are also on offer.

A stay at Borana is a unique opportunity for total immersion in the life of a working ranch where environmental and ecological considerations rank alongside responsibility to neighbouring communities. Community projects include a mobile clinic, supporting 3 women’s groups, supporting 5 primary schools and working with the community on a forestry project. Borana is closed during the month of November.
