About Ol Malo

On the northern edge of the Laikipia plateau, Ol Malo sits high on an escarpment looking down on northern Kenya. Ol Malo, or place of the greater kudu, is a wilderness area that is both remote and beautiful. Ol Malo has 4 luxury cottages, each with en-suite double bedroom and veranda with a view. The lodge also has a large sitting and dining room with fireplace. There is an infinity swimming pool, with a large sunbathing terrace surrounding it, complete with barbecue and dining area. There is also a gift shop. A generator provides power morning and evening. A masseuse visits when required, reservation necessary. Internet access can be provided on request.

Activities include game drives, game walks, camel riding, mountain biking and cultural visits to local communities. Guests can also spend a night in the lookout at the waterhole. There are 15 horses, 8 of which are ride-able. Saddles, jodhpurs, riding hats and boots are all available at the lodge. Game seen during horse rides includes giraffe, zebra, gazelles, eland, oryx, and occasionally cat and elephant. Ol Malo is closed in April, May and November.
