About Sabuk

Perched on a cliff overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, Sabuk is an exclusive wilderness haven on the edge of the northern Laikipia Plateau. This raised location grants dramatic views of the Laikipia plains, the Karisia Hills and Matthews Mountains.

Sabuk has 6 spacious en-suite open-fronted stone cottages with thatched roofs and private verandas with stunning views. 3 have king size beds, 2 have twin beds and 1 family cottage has a king size bed and 3 singles. Eagle Cottages, a family unit, has two en-suite cottages, one with king size bed and one triple, with exclusive dining area and plunge pool. Sabuk also boasts an open mess area where guests can relax on cushions looking out over the river, an infinity pool and a church with a view for weddings. Sabuk has been operating walking and camel safaris for over 20 years, and each safari is tailor-made. The Laikipiak Maasai share their tribal and bush craft skills, such as tracking animals and explaining the medicinal uses of local plants. Guests can enjoy camel assisted walking safaris for anything between one morning and two weeks, hosted by Maasai and Samburu warriors and sleeping under the stars. Other activities include day and night game drives, game walks, horse riding, bush breakfasts and sundowners at viewpoints.
