Diamond Beach Village is a collection of bandas on the beach. A short boat trip from Shela, Diamond Beach Village makes a relaxing place to chill out. There are 9 traditional en-suite bandas. Created from palm fronds, the attractive, rustic bandas are furnished with locally crafted furniture. There is also a tree house in a baobab. It has a double, a twin and a single, 2 bathrooms and a private garden with swing beds. The baobab grows up through the house, blending into this unique piece of architecture. The campfire on the beach makes a lovely place to watch the sunset.
The beachfront restaurant serves international dishes such as traditional fish and chips, spaghetti bolognaise and deep fried calamari, and also has a pizza oven. The menu changes weekly. Fresh fish is delivered daily. The bar is well stocked with soft drinks, beers, wines and cocktails, and has regular film and pizza nights. The peaceful thatched library and chill out area is furnished with swing chairs and daybeds, and has a selection of books and games. Diamond Beach Village has 2 boats, available for trips to Manda Toto and Takwa Ruins, and for fishing trips and sundowner cruises. Diamond Beach Village minimises its environmental impact by using solar powered lamps, recycling grey water and donating food waste to the Lamu donkeys.
