The newest in the Basecamp portfolio, Basecamp Leopard Hill is in the Naboisho Conservancy bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Basecamp Leopard Hill is owned and managed by Basecamp, a luxury eco-friendly camp near Talek Gate. Basecamp Foundation supports and cooperates with local communities, as well as developing and promoting Basecamp’s sustainable tourism concept.
There are 4 en-suite luxury double tents, 1 family tent and 1 honeymoon suite. All tents are raised on wooden decks and inspired by round Maasai manyattas with 360°views. They have adjustable motorised roofs that open to the African skies, leaving inhabitants protected by invisible mosquito nets. Each tent has its own theme, with furniture inspired by India and Africa, and have indoor and outdoor showers and fireplaces on large private terraces.
This part of Naboisho Conservancy is restricted from vehicles. Activities include morning, evening and night game drives, guided game walks and visits to local Maasai villages. Meals are created from locally sourced organic produce and can be served in the mess tent beneath the giant ancient fig tree, on the guests’ private veranda or in the bush. Basecamp has won the WTM First Choice Responsible Tourism Award, SKAL Sustainable International Award and Sustainable Destinations Top 100.
