Mara Bushtops Camp is perched on a hillside, with spectacular views into the valley. The camp is located in Siana Conservancy, which borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
There are 12 en-suite tents. The tents have been designed in modern African style, with wooden decks and sunken hot tubs from which to appreciate the view. The reception, lounge area and swimming pool are raised over the valley and are equipped with a telescope for game viewing. The restaurant, overlooking a waterhole, has an international a la carte menu and an extensive wine cellar. Fresh vegetables are home grown in the camp’s garden. The lounge has an open fire, selection of books and large TV for viewing photos.
Activities include game drives in Siana Conservancy and the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Game walks, bird watching, cultural visits to local Maasai villages and hiking in the nearby Sekenani Hills are also on offer. The camp was built to be eco-sustainable, and has Ecotourism Kenya’s silver award. It uses solar power, with a backup generator, and purifies and recycles grey water. The camp supports the Nkoilale School; current projects include a borehole near the school and practical training for the children. Mara Bushtops Camp was voted the Best Luxury Camp in Kenya by Twende Magazine in 2007 and 2008.
