About Ngerende Island Lodge

The water of the Mara River laps on all sides of Ngerende Island Lodge, linked by a causeway to the riverbank. Set in the Ol Chorro Conservancy, the lodge has access to savannah plains as well as the wooded banks of the Mara River.

There are 7 en-suite canvas and wood suites. All suites are on raised mahogany platforms and have panoramic views of the river and its environs. All suites are equipped with fireplace, open air bath and spacious veranda, and are served by a personal room steward.

Activities include morning and evening game drives and visits to the nearby rhino sanctuary. Full day game drives and night drives are also offered. Birdlife is prolific and game walks are recommended. Weddings are individually planned to the specifications of the couple. Ngerende’s holistic spa offers its own big five: safari soother, sensual Africa, Ngerende restorer, indulgent Mara and Ngerende teaser.

Ngerende Island Lodge is committed to empowering the local communities by providing employment, purchasing supplies locally, marketing local crafts and supporting a local school.
