About Sanctuary Olonana

Sanctuary Olonana is a luxury tented camp on a private stretch of the Mara River at the foot of the impressive Siria Escarpment. The camp has initiated a number of eco projects, and is known for good game viewing as well as for its Sanctuary Spa.

There are 14 spacious en-suite tents. The tents have polished wooden floors, Oriental rugs and comfortable armchairs. Their large verandas have views of the river, and of the hippos often found wallowing in its water. The main dining room and veranda stretches along a striking section of the Mara River, providing a scenic setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The camp also has a swimming pool and a gift shop.

Activities include game drives and cultural visits to local Maasai villages. Bush meals and sundowners can be arranged. The Sanctuary Spa offers a range of treatments, including facials and massages, and uses the worldwide recognised Africology and French marine-based Thaigo products. Olonana works closely with a local Maasai village, offering employment and donations to community projects. Sanctuary Olonana received the prodigious gold award from Ecotourism Kenya for its eco policies which include solar power, a wetlands which cleanses wastewater before returning it to the natural environment and a tree planting initiative.
