About Emakoko

On a cliff overlooking Nairobi National Park, this family-owned lodge is welcoming and attractive. The family lives on site and hosts personally, along with a dedicated team of staff. The lodge is attached to the national park and has spectacular views across the plains.

The 10 en-suite rooms have luxurious beds, black-out curtains, attractive lamps, African artefacts and private verandas; 5 rooms are on the main level and 5 are built into the cliff linked by a funicular. The viewing area serves cocktails and has views across the park. The chef serves a selection of dishes from around the world including British, French, Indian and Thai; salads are fresh from the garden. The swimming pool is surrounded by a viewing deck overlooking the river. The boutique has locally crafted arts and jewellery.

As well as game drives in the national park, nearby attractions include the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, the Giraffe Sanctuary and the Karen Blixen Museum. Shopping trips, trips into the centre of Nairobi and visits to nearby golf courses can be arranged. Walking and running thought community land is on offer. Emakoko supports the local community with the lion lighting scheme, which deters predators from attacking local villages.
