In 1933 Harvard classmates Ernest Henderson and Robert Moore bought the Continental Hotel in Cambridge Massachusetts. That was the start of Sheraton Hotels and Resorts which became a huge international hotel chain. Now owned by Marriott International based near Washington DC, a leading hotel company with more than 6,000 hotels in 122 countries and territories, the prestigious hotel chain has over 30 brands including JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, The Luxury Collection, Design Hotels, Renaissance Hotels and Four Points by Sheraton.
Four Points by Sheraton opened in 2017 and is located at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The 172 en-suite rooms are made up of doubles, twins, deluxe, suites and executive suite. All rooms have safe, minibar, iron, Wifi and kettle; the suites are more spacious and have living areas. Dining options include Tazama Rooftop Restaurant which serves roasts and grills, and the Marketplace with soups, salads, pastas and curries. There’s also a fitness centre and heated swimming pool. The fully equipped conference centre has 7 meeting rooms, the largest of which seats 150 pax.
The hotel is conveniently located for international stopovers. Other sites of interest include Nairobi National Museum, the Railway Museum, the National Theatre, Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Sanctuary.
