California Corporation was founded in 1993 by Claus Sendlinger and J Peter Schweitzer. The company, rebranded in 2001 as Design Hotels AG with 23 member hotels, now provides hospitality services to 315 handpicked hotels around the world. Its HQ is in Berlin, and offices are in London, Barcelona, New York and Singapore. Marriott International currently owns 74% of Design Hotels.

Trademark Hotel, a member of Design Hotels, has 215 en-suite rooms made up of trademark king, terrace king, trademark suite, 1-bedroom corner suite and trademark clubhouse. All rooms have aircon, blackout curtains, satellite TV, desk and laptop safe. The terrace king is more spacious. The 6 corner suites have, in addition, a work station and kitchenette, and the clubhouse is an expansive penthouse. The rooftop has infinity pool, deck and bar.

Dining options are Harvest, a meat-lovers’ brasserie; Gin and Tea, a curated collection of gins and teas; and Hero featuring a modern take on sushi. The conference centre houses the ballroom and several meeting rooms.
