About The Driftwood Beach Club

The Driftwood Beach Club has long been a favourite with locals. The charming club, set in beachfront gardens, is one of the original hotels in Malindi. There are 30 thatched bandas, each containing an en-suite double room. All bandas have aircon, telephone and veranda. There are 2 luxury director’s cottages, in a private walled garden with a swimming pool. Each cottage has 2 en-suite aircon rooms, living room and veranda. There are 3 villas in secluded private premises behind the club, with a swimming pool.

The dining room and main bar have lovely views of the Indian Ocean. The restaurant has an international menu, including seafood and steaks. The poolside bar serves snacks. Sunday curry lunch has become a tradition.

There is a scuba diving centre on site. Other water sports include deep sea fishing, windsurfing, kite surfing, water-skiing and snorkelling. Nearby attractions include the Sabaki Delta and the Arabuko Sokoke Forest, both of which have prolific birdlife.

Malindi has a selection of restaurants and bars, as well as a casino and nightclub. Tours, excursions and safaris to destinations in Kenya can be arranged.
