About Oasis Lodge
On the edge of Lake Turkana, Oasis Lodge is located at a real oasis in the arid desert of northern Kenya. The lodge has 2 fresh water swimming pools, fed by the lake, in gardens lush with doum palms. Loyangalani, the town that stands between the bleak desert and the bright blue lake, is an extraordinary and exciting site; it attracts intrepid adventurers and those who want to see a part of Kenya little visited.
There are 14 en-suite rooms, made up of twins and doubles. The restaurant has an a la carte menu of international dishes, and specialises in fresh lake fish. The bar is well stocked with soft drinks, beers and spirits. Activities, at an extra charge, include the use of a vehicle for the day, with driver and fuel. Fishing trips and boat trips on the lake can be arranged. Cultural tours of the local El Molo village and excursions to Mt Kulal are available. Light aircraft and helicopter flights over the lake can be booked from the lodge. Oasis Lodge makes an ideal starting place for trips across the Chalbi Desert and for excursions to the prehistoric sites of Koobi Fora in Sibiloi National Park.
