About Lentorre Lodge, Magadi

Lentorre Lodge, in the Lake Magadi area, is an elegant lodge on an escarpment with stunning views on all sides. The luxury lodge opened in 2014.

The 6 en-suite cottages - 4 double and 2 family - are adorned with stylish hand-carved furniture. Each cottage has a private plunge pool on the verandah from which guests can gaze at views of the surrounding acacia woodlands and the distant peaks of Shompole Hill. The reception, library and dining area are all open-sided, with stone floors, natural wood and brass adornments, safari beige furnishings and cream cushions. The sundowner area overlooks a waterhole that attracts various species of wildlife and birdlife including all the big cats. Activities include day and night game drives and guided nature walks. Bird watching, hiking and swimming are all on offer; cultural visits to local Maasai villages and bush breakfasts can be arranged. The hide at the waterhole gives guests the opportunity to watch the game at water level.

The nearby colobus monkey site makes an interesting trip from Lentorre Lodge. Also nearby is Laleenok resource centre, which offers fascinating insights into the strong links between traditional knowledge, science and conservation. The scientists undertaking research offer the chance to walk with a troop of habituated baboons as well as the opportunity to track night predators.
