About Southern Palms Beach Resort

Set in 10 acres of mature tropical gardens on Diani Beach, Southern Palms Beach Resort blends traditional Swahili forms with Arabic architecture.

The huge freeform swimming pool meanders attractively through the resort. The 298 en-suite rooms comprise superior and ocean front, and the larger superior deluxe and ocean front deluxe. All rooms feature locally carved Pili Pili 4-poster beds, have tiled ceramic floors and are equipped with aircon, TV, telephone, kettle, safe, minibar and balcony. The corner rooms include dressing rooms.

The Main Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and themed dinners, and has multiple menus including Indian. Shwarma is served on the island in the centre of the pool, and nyama choma grilled meat, fish and seafood are served in Manyatta Restaurant. Boriti Snack Bar, near the beachfront, offers a la carte light lunches including pizza. La Via Romana, above the snack bar, serves Italian dinners. There are 5 bars, including swim-up bars, the 24-hour main bar and the beach bar.

Activities include water polo, nature walks, floodlit tennis, volleyball, squash, pétanque and bird watching. The water sports centre offers deep sea fishing, catamaran sailing, water aerobics, scuba diving, windsurfing. Nightly entertainment includes traditional dancing, acrobatics and local folklore. The Kid’s Club has games, films and puzzles.
