About The Maji

Established in 2013, The Maji was a private house that has been converted into a boutique hotel. The elegant hotel is in tropical gardens, with intimate private seating areas, on Diani’s beachfront.

There are 15 en-suite rooms, including garden view, ocean view and a selection of suites. Each room is designed individually, and uses natural features like driftwood ornaments and distressed wood furniture. All rooms have aircon, fan, safe, minibar, TV, hairdryer and phone; some are interconnecting. The ground floor rooms and pool area are wheelchair friendly. The swimming pool between the hotel and the beach is surrounded by fountains and water features. The restaurant serves a diverse menu including Italian, Indian and seafood and the chef caters to food preferences and allergies; meals can be served anywhere in the hotel and gardens. Maji Moto Bar has a large menu of wines and cocktails.

The indoor and outdoor treatment rooms offer a good selection of massages and treatments. The hotel has a number of eco-friendly policies including a water recycling plant, solar hot water, glass bottles and beach clean-ups. Their turtle hatchery protects turtles and their nests, and they support the Turtle Trust. The Maji welcomes children over the age of 12.
