Amazing Kenya’s Shoroa Camp is a traditional safari camp on the banks of the Galana River, overlooking the Galana Conservancy. On the edge of Tsavo East National Park, this conservancy is a 60,000-acre haven for wildlife and birdlife.
There are four en-suite tents that can be double or twin. The tents are all adorned with colourful rugs and African print fabrics, and have a dressing area with clothes rail. Their verandas have safari chairs with a view of the river, and their bathrooms have safari showers. The mess tent has sofas and armchairs draped with local fabrics, and a well stocked bar. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be served in the mess tent, on the banks of the river or on the guests’ veranda. The chef uses fresh local produce to create tasty dishes, and is happy to design menus for all dietary requirements.
Activities include day and night game drives, bush walks and bird watching. Sundowners in the bush, as well as bush breakfasts and dinners, are on offer. The camp is eco-friendly and uses solar power; there are no permanent structures and the camp can be completely removed. Galana Conservancy is a centre of conservation and community development.
