Yoga Events and Happenings | Be Balanced: Ashtanga, Yin and Meditation

These are interesting times indeed. Great changes are taking place and our ideas of ‘normal’ are constantly being challenged. It is more important than ever to remain grounded, keep healthy and stay in the present moment. Staying mindful and grounded helps us to find and come back to a stable reference point in the midst of what may seem like a whirlwind.

If you’ve been cooped up at home, going slightly mad, we have a potential glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Fingers and toes crossed Kenya’s travel restrictions will have been lifted by August. We would love you to join us for a retreat at Suyian Soul. It could be just the thing you need to help decompress, and get back in tune with nature and yourself.

There will be some Ashtanga classes with brilliant teacher Richard Kitoshi. You can expect to sweat, laugh and strengthen the body. These sessions are accessible for all levels so don’t feel daunted if you’ve never practiced Ashtanga before.

There will be Yin yoga with Méli. A gentle and slow practice with powerful results - surrender to gravity and allow your connective tissues to stretch. Brilliant for balancing over-active masculine energy, and releasing emotional and physical blockages, Yin with Méli is true healing balm.

There will also be discourses and short meditations led by Ciaran. Through simple observation and relaxation techniques, we will explore awareness and how to carry this awareness into our daily life.

There will also be plenty of time to chill, watch the wildlife, go on walks, eat yummy, healthy food and simply enjoy being out in the bush.

Suyian Soul is an open-air location with no windows on any structures. If you have any concerns, questions or things you’d like to say, please be in touch.
