Cottars Conservation Camp

This camp is designed for those who want to immerse themselves in the local community, culture and wildlife. The camp is set along the Maaai Mara Game Reserve, home to the famous ‘Big Five’: leopards, lions, elephants, Cape buffalo and rhinos. Located in a tranquil spot by a trickling stream, under an oasis of tall trees with the dramatic Olentoroto Hills as the camp’s backdrop. With just seven tents, this is an intimate camp that has all the essential elements for a memorable safari experience. Each tent has its own private bathroom in a cubicle located behind the tent with a wash basin, hot safari-shower and long drop toilet. An experienced safari cook is at the camp to prepare the daily meals, served in a beautiful large mess tent. Guests can also relax in the dedicated Zen Tent. In addition the the retreat organizers, camp is hosted by the manager and a support crew to look after all of the guests needs.

Wesa House

Wesa House is located on its own luxurious private beach with white sand and blue waters 16kms North of the Kilifi Bridge on the road to Watamu & Malindi. The closest towns are Kilifi, which is about 16km south, and Watamu, which is around 25km north, where you can find restaurants, sports clubs, shops and much more. The house is very eco friendly, and runs on solar to power the fridges, lights, hot water and other house hold appliances, and cooking is done on gas.The house is set a few metres back just from the beach in its own walled garden, making it secure & private. You will experience some amazing views over the ocean and some of the best sunrises and sunsets along the East African coast.

Large sitting & dining area as well as a large veranda outside for relaxing & outdoor meals overlooking the pool & gardens.

Amazing roof top, that is the best place for tea in the morning to watch the sunrise, sunbathe in private during the day and enjoy a sundowner looking out over the ocean at the bar in the evening. Moonrise is also spectacular from this spot.

There is also a Swahili styled corner up on the rooftop where you can relax and play music, cards or just have a few drinks.

Salt water infinity pool at the centre of the plot, and from here there is direct access to the beach.

Rates: $2195 pp sharing

7 days/6 nights in 5* accommodation at Cottars Conservation Camp in the Maasai Mara and private beachfront home south of Watamu. All drinks and locally sourced meals with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. In-country flights and transportation. Activities and park fees.
