Yogi | Andrea Hartley

Andrea Hartley graduated from Louisiana State University Honors College in 2014 with a BA in International Studies concentrated in Africa and a double minor in Business Administration and Psychology.

Andrea trained in Aerial Arts at LSU’s School of Theatre during 2013-2014 and furthered her circus study in subsequent years with Nashville Circus Centre, Crave Fitness Studio and Fly Circus Space. Passionate about travel and having studied in East Africa, Andrea moved to Kenya in 2014 and shortly after became the Aerial Arts instructor at Sarakasi Dome. In 2017, she went on to create the social circus AER Africa which empowers Kenyan youth through the circus arts and brings Aerial + Flow Arts to venues and schools across East Africa. Andrea furthered her study of movement with Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga teacher training in 2018 with Karuna Yoga Journeys and continues to merge aerial, yoga, flow and mindfulness practices in her teaching.

For three years, our Kenya aerial community found a way to gather in old theatres, gyms, studios and parks. As of 2020, we now have a place to call home: the Aerial + Flow Arts Sanctuary in Nairobi, our very own studio and community center where we:
AER Africa holistic training and performance company provides a platform for African youth to find their power in the circus arts so that they may realise their life’s purpose and become an agent of change.

  • train and empower aspiring wellness leaders, circus entertainers, and ambassadors of change
  • build a supportive fitness community that motivates our members to live healthily, express creatively and have fun
  • host transformative wellness retreats and service learning opportunities that develop self-love, compassion and connectedness

At the Aerial + Flow Arts Sanctuary we inspire our community members to connect, have fun and express themselves through a variety of unique movement disciplines, proving not even the sky’s the limit on your wellness potential.
