Named after Erik Ole Larsen, a Dane credited with enhancing the style of luxury tented camps, Larsen’s Camp is a camp that would have made him proud. On the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, the camp looks out across the pristine wilderness of Samburu National Reserve.
There are 20 en-suite tents, made up of doubles and twins, each named after a local Samburu bird. The spacious tents have lounge areas furnished with chairs, table, writing desk, books, minibar and kettle, and are adorned with local decorations. Each tent has its own private veranda. The bathrooms are equipped with Molton Brown amenities. Meals can be served in the dining tent, on the tree house deck, on the riverbanks or in the bush. As well as the main bar, there is a bar beside the swimming pool. Activities include game drives, game walks and cultural visits to local Samburu villages. Birdlife is abundant, and bird watching is recommended. Eseriani Spa, meaning place of peace in Samburu, offers treatments including aromatherapy massage and body scrub, and also contains a Jacuzzi. The camp is equipped with WiFi and has a postage service and a doctor on call. An electric fence surrounds the camp.
Larsen’s Camp is a member of The Small Luxury Hotels of The World group, and has been rated silver by Ecotourism Kenya.
