Yogi | Moses Mukolwe Mbajah

Moses started his yoga journey in 2007 and was a co-founder of the Africa Yoga Project.

A professional acrobat for 10 years, Moses’ yoga teaching combines an intense physical practice with a gentle and loving message of inner and outer peace.

As a yoga teacher and a faculty member of the Africa Yoga Project, Moses is one of the pioneers of yoga in Kenya. He is the first yoga teacher to focus on teaching local communities. He introduced thousands of students in Kenya to the practice of yoga, and infused his sessions with his own joy for the practice, dispelling the myths of it being a religion and showing it to be a lifestyle to adapt to. He was introduced to the World of Yoga through workshops conducted by Paige Elenson (Director of the Africa Yoga Project) in Nairobi. With Paige, Moses brought yoga and other healing movements of art to the internally displaced persons’ camps after the 2007-2008 post-election violence in Kenya.

Soon after that Moses attended Baron Baptiste Level 1, 2 & 3 teacher trainings in Tulum, Mexico. Since then, he has been able to facilitate trainings with Baron Baptiste in Kenya, and assisted his trainings internationally, he also presented yoga at the Italian Yoga Festival in Milan. Moses is currently teaching at Moto Yoga School in Galu, as well as doing online classes for the Open Society Initiative wellness programmes, and facilitating yoga workshops and teacher trainings in Kenya.
