About Umande Mbili

A stylish and peaceful house just minutes from Malindi Beach, Umande Mbili is perfect for families or groups of friends. The house is set in over an acre of lush garden around a swimming pool. Umande means morning dew; mbili, the number two, notes that there’s another Umande next door.

There are 4 en-suite double and twin rooms. The rooms are whitewashed, furnished with wooden furniture and adorned with local art; two rooms have their own verandas. There are several spacious living areas with desks, sofas, coffee tables, bookshelves and elegant art. The verandas and relaxation spaces in the garden offer plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the day. The house is fully staffed, with chef, housekeeper, gardener/pool attendant and night guard.

Daniela Cellini, owner of the house, is an award-winning restauranteur and hospitality consultant. Many of Nairobi’s top restaurants have been designed and launched by Daniela, and the house’s décor and food are testament to this. Malindi is famous for a lovely beach, ancient old town and bustling market. Nearby sites of interest include the Vasco de Gama Pillar, Portuguese Church, Hell’s Kitchen rock formations and the extensive Tsavo East National Park.
